Unfortunately, Joao Pedro couldn’t intercept one of the passes but Cucho Hernandez snatched the ball from Mohammed Salisu’s back pass to Fraser Forster, the saints goalie and Hernandez finished it off with a shot that got a bit of curl on it to take the ball into the back of the net from a tight angle. 1-0.

The fans were cheering like crazy. 20 minutes later, Emmanuel Dennis had the ball and  then Juraj Kucka came running next to him for Emmanuel Dennis to pass to. Kucka got the ball from Dennis and made a lovely cross for Cucho Hernandez, who was waiting at the back post with a brilliant right foot volley.  2-0.

Just before halftime, the saints had a free kick in a dangerous position. James Ward – Prowse took the free kick and Che Adams flicked it on for Mohamed Elyounoussi to tap the ball in the back of the net on the volley. The saints had a goal back. 2-1 to Watford.

It was goalless in the second half, however it was full of nail biting opportunities. However, Southampton had more chances than Watford to score but they couldn’t score any of them.
